Realistic radar coverage in SEA

Hi Guys

Based on this map http://bbr.asia/sita.jpg

And the data found here http://www.icao.int/APAC/Docomeents/edocs/fasid/tcns4.pdf

Im looking to introduce realistic radar coverage throughout South East Asia, by adding radar locations to the ESE files

I have entered in the data for Singapore at a request from one of their controllers, (and another in Vietnam) who wanted to provide a more realistic procedural control over the water areas of the WSJC FIR.

Aircraft outside the circles would produce a "flight plan track" and wont show Altitude, heading or speed, and ETA's must be entered as per position reports similar to normal Oceanic crossings, only, and aircraft inside the circle will have full radar data.

Im of the belief that FIR's would not share radar data with each other, however in the ASEA_FSS sector file I can put it so that the radar coverage represents the map above, and then for each individual FIR, only add the Radar Locations for radars used by their ATC only.

Hi Kirk,

Thank you for helping out. We are currently working on training controllers to handle non-radar procedure. As you may know, the procedures for non-radar are very different in many parts of the world. South China Sea has unique phraseology and procedures and we are trying to make it as real as it gets. Hence, it is paramount that we docomeent the procedures properly.

I appreciate your help and Singapore will continue to work with you to make these matters a reality.
