How do flights from European Carriers fly to Dubai? do they fly over Saudi Arabia or do they go around it (over the Read Sea and Persian gulf)?

And on the same note I know that Fly Tampa has scenery for it but is there any freeware scenery?

thanks!

Hi Ben,

I was flying Zürich to Dubai three times during the last five years. Twice Emirates routed via Balkan, Black Sea, Turkey and Iran and once they took the other route via Balkan, Turkey, Cyprus, Syria and Saudi Arabia.

I don't know exactly, but I guess it's simply depending on weather and wind conditions along the route. The most common however is the Black Sea / Iran route.

Just in case you are looking for a route from Germany, Switzerland or Austria have a look at http://fpc.vacc-sag.org . All real life routes validated by (the real) Eurocontrol Maastricht (at least for the European part of the route). The routes including UMH VOR are via Iran, others are via Saudi Arabia.

Hope this helps.

Hi Dieter, Hi Ben,

the choice of routing would also be "dependant" on the "over-flight clearances" and the "[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ociated over-flight charges" for each country - besides the wind etc...

Best Regards,

Norbert

Yes, it would mostly depend on the winds condition on the date/time. Most;y flights going to OMDB p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] by Lebanese airspace; based on my expirience controlling OLBB CTR, UAE and every single flight going to OMDB p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]: CAK J222 BASEM... You will always see this in a airplane's flightplan going to OMDB form Europe I'm 99% sure.

So after OLBB then p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] on to OSTT (Damascus) for a small while then to ORBS then OKAC then OBBB then OMAE

All the best.
