Hi Guys.

I'm trying to setup vPilot for my first flight on Vatsim. I have downloaded all of the IVAO_MTL textures for FSX and ensured that fsx.cfg is correctly congfigured to use them. I have used VMRGenerator to create a custom rule matching set for vPilot, however all aircraft texures are plain white with no liveries.

Please help, i know this doesn't affect how the Sim runs but it takes away from the realism and it annoys the hell out of me

Thanks

I'm going to make the [Mod - Happy Thoughts]umption that you didn't add an entry to your FSX.cfg file that essentially tells FSX where to load the MTL library from.

Locate your FSX.cfg file (located in your %appdata%\Microsoft\FSX directory). Locate the [Main] heading. You should see something similar to this:

[Main]

FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.15

HIDEINFOTEXT=1

HideMenuFullscreen=1

HideMenuNormal=0

Location=835,503,1328,833,\\.\DISPLAY1

Maximized=2

PerfBucket=7

ProcSpeed=18520

SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes

SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft

SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles

SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats

SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals

SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc

User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter

If yes, then the following entry to your FSX.cfg file underneath the SimObjects\Misc entry (where X is the next number in sequence):

SimObjectPaths.X=SimObjects\IVAO_MTL

Doing so, it should look something like this now:

[Main]

FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.15

HIDEINFOTEXT=1

HideMenuFullscreen=1

HideMenuNormal=0

Location=835,503,1328,833,\\.\DISPLAY1

Maximized=2

PerfBucket=7

ProcSpeed=18520

SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes

SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft

SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles

SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats

SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals

SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc

SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\IVAO_MTL

User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter

This will only work if you have the IVAO_MTL library installed in the MainFSXDirecotry\SimObjects\IVAO_MTL folder.

Save your config file and reload FSX; the model matching should now work as expected.

Are the IVAO_MTL files that you installed listed in the SimObjects folder as defined in the CFG file?

This doesn't look like a model installation issue to me. Looks like the models are loading fine, but the textures are not. I've never seen that before ... maybe a video driver problem? Seems unlikely since *some* of the textures are loading fine, like the Ryanair.

Are you using DirectX 10 preview mode?

The Ryanair is my aircraft is the paint on my PMDG 737-800. The only liveries that will show are ones that i have for either my PMDG 737NG or from Aerosofts Airbus X extended; Yes i am using the Driectx 10 Preview

Have you tried turning off DX10 preview? I have heard not all model set textures are compatible.
