It looks like some files are using \r\n, and some just \n. Any clue whats up?

Same issue for my VAT-Track app. Sometimes the script gets no data because of the line ending.

It seems like certain times. I modified my script to \n. It worked for the first 30 minutes, then it broke and I had to revert back to \r\n and then it did it again. I think I tried all the files.

What files?

^^

More than one datafile available - which files are you talking about? You mean the datafile with all the user data (typically vatsim-data.txt)?

Side-note: more information would also be handy, difficult to look into it otherwise.

When was it one type, when was it another?

Was it consistent across all scripts, or was it one feed?

How are you ascertaining what the line breaks are (i.e. code)?

Did you try converting the file yourself to the format you were expecting and then running your script again? If so, did that resolve the problem?

Do you have copies of the files where it was one and where it was other? If not, please do when it happens.

[Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming you are talking about the vatsim-data.txt scripts from the remote hosts, the newlines should be CRLF.

Everything is all good now, I just remove all instances of \r manually and just use \n. Although it would be nice of the vatsim-data.txt files were all constant.

For your questions it was constant with all scripts, it was looking for \r\n.

As far as I'm aware they are consistent. If it happens again, give us the answers to the questions above and we'll take a look.

I've got a few tests running just in case, but I'd be very surprised if the datafiles are just randomly changing formats on a regular basis.
