Syam Haque 1161585 Posted August 14, 2014 at 02:04 AM Posted August 14, 2014 at 02:04 AM Today while on a flight from EGLL - EDDM on the Airbus X my FSX crashed with a fatal error about 75% of the way. vPilot gave an unhandled exception error. This is the first time this happened, so I thought I'd throw it here to see if there was a cause for this and how to go about fixing it to prevent this in the future. Error Details: See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xC000014B): Exception from HRESULT: 0xC000014B at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ThrowExceptionForHRInternal(Int32 errorCode, IntPtr errorInfo) at Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.SimConnect.RequestDataOnSimObjectType(Enum RequestID, Enum DefineID, UInt32 dwRadiusMeters, SIMCONNECT_SIMOBJECT_TYPE type) at cg.x() at bs.g(Object A_0, EventArgs A_1) at System.Windows.Forms.Timer.OnTick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Timer.TimerNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) ************** Loaded [Mod - Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted August 14, 2014 at 02:22 AM Board of Governors Posted August 14, 2014 at 02:22 AM Ross could probably give more insight, but... Did you do a search on the forums with that error code? There are a few posts out there. Lots of ideas on Google too. Did you happen to get a vPilot model matching error at the same time as the app crash? From the reading I've done, it's a SimConnect error. Maybe check out this thread too: viewtopic.php?f=132&t=64716&p=466378&hilit=0xc000014B#p466378 Don Desfosse Vice President, Operations
Ross Carlson Posted August 14, 2014 at 03:14 AM Posted August 14, 2014 at 03:14 AM That error is just a side effect of FSX crashing. It was not caused by vPilot. The most common cause we've seen for FSX to crash while vPilot is running is when FSX tries to load a corrupt model. Some of the IVAO models cause this. What model set(s) are you using? Syam Haque 1161585 Posted August 15, 2014 at 12:10 AM Author Posted August 15, 2014 at 12:10 AM Yeah that would be correct, I do have IVAO MTL installed. But I didn't receive any model matching error messages before or after the crash on vPilot. I did purchase Ultimate Traffic 2 last week, so I'll install it this week replacing IVAO MTL and see how it goes. Gonzalo Ramazco 1039725 Posted August 16, 2014 at 11:35 PM Posted August 16, 2014 at 11:35 PM Mine crashes too, it shouldn't crash. The idea behind vPilot is be an independent app so if FSX crashes vPilot shouldn't.
Alex Brown Posted September 9, 2014 at 05:05 PM Posted September 9, 2014 at 05:05 PM I got the same thing, and today after being on final to KIAD...I got that error msg. I noticed while descending, I could the Windows error tone going off. I looked and there were no errors, nothing. Then at 170 KTS, 1,900ft and on the G/S, I got that error. This is the 2nd time this has happened on a flight 10+hrs, using vPilot. Using Ultimate Traffic 2. The idea behind vPilot is be an independent app so if FSX crashes vPilot shouldn't. Again, Ross knows this stuff and how the programs interconnect far more than I do, but... If FSX is using SimConnect, and vPilot is using SimConnect, and SimConnect crashes, it seems logical that the programs that rely on SimConnect, namely FSX and vPilot, are at best not going to be happy, and at worst, will also crash.
