Gabriel Peixoto 1291129 Posted September 1, 2014 at 03:31 AM Posted September 1, 2014 at 03:31 AM Currently I have an i3 2100 with a gtx 760 and 8 gb ram. To make fsx run smooth with some addons to make it look good like rex, utx, a good scenery, pmdg 737, gex and maybe orbx do I need an i7 or an i5 4690k is enough ? I do have the i5 4690K overlocked up to 4.6 GHz and I am super happy with it. FSX runs really smoothly. Surely the i7 has a little bit more power but there isn't a big difference between the i5 4690K and i7 4790K when running FSX - maybe 2 or 3 frames per second more. So all in all, it's a question of money. I would spend it on addons rather than on the i7 CPU.
