Wygene Chong 1089621 Posted September 9, 2014 at 12:55 AM Posted September 9, 2014 at 12:55 AM Do you hold a C1 rating? Are you free for at least 5 hours a month? Are you interested in helping build up a unique VATSIM community? We need you! Iceland is actively recruiting visiting controllers from around the world holding a C1 rating or greater to control the three principal positions in the Reykjavik Control Area. Reykjavik Control (BIRD_CTR) - Iceland and the Faroe Islands Iceland Radio (BICC_FSS) - Above FL195 Greenland to the North Pole Søndrestrøm Information (BGGL_FSS) - Below FL195 Greenland to the North Pole You would join a team of controllers currently dominated by members of our sister nations in VATSIM Scandinavia. We are particularly looking for people who are willing to contribute at least 5 hours a month on an Icelandic position. Training will be provided and extensive docomeentation is available to help. In addition, you get access to the full suite of services offered by the broader VATSIM Scandinavia organisation, including our forum, TeamSpeak server and genuine Nordic community spirit. Don't have a C1 rating but still want to help? If you are a member of VATEUD, VATSIM-UK or VATRUS, you are also entitled to control in Iceland with S2 or S3 rating thanks to the existing VATEUD OpenSkies initiative. Bear in mind that this scheme is not intended to be permanent and as such it may be possible that your status could be terminated if the OpenSkies agreement is lifted over Iceland in the future. So if you fit into one of the two categories (Any country C1, or VATEUR S2/S3), we encourage you to send an application for visiting status in Iceland to accsca1[at]vatsim-scandinavia.org. If you have any queries, please contact accsca7[at]vatsim-scandinavia.org. Can't help but know someone who can? Help us spread the word!
