ok, i managed to get everything working, but i have some questions before i start flying. I want to know how the ATC talks to me, for example if Im flying from KMIA to KJAX and i departed from KMIA and im almost home at KJAX, how does KJAX ATC contact me to tell me to descent to FL XXX? And how do i switch from ground to departure or tower. Please reply, help would be greatly appreciated

Please repost your question under "Pilot Talk" or under "General Discussion", so that the discussion can be read by other.

You will get all answers.

This is only "Pilot Software Help".

You can follow your progress on ServInfo, there you can also see if a ATC comes online at your position.

Otherwise the controller will send you a text message, for example "UA123 contact Miami Control on 123.45".

You can switch voice server and frequency in SquawkBox, in a menu (if I remember right) "ATC directory". You double click on the ATC in a list of ATCs in your neighbourhood (do not singleclick and press OK, that doesn't work for me at least).

I think all this is described in the VATSIM Pilot Resource Centre (PRC).
