G'day all:

Is it posible to somehow connect the FS9 and all the VATSIM stuff to a custom made hardware simulation cockpit? ie: with all the moving instruments and the cockpit itself actually moves with hydraulics. Is there programs we can get which can make the cockpit move, or does FSUIPC does this?

Thanks

Brendan

G'day Brendan ,

Yes , all of these things are possible ,but it is highly complex , and can be very expensive. There was a similar thread earlier this week http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?t=8000 , you will get much more information there !!

Thanks Ross:

That looks really cool, but my situation is that I have the hardware cockpit all setup (actually bought a 737 nose cone and all the rest) and it had the X-Plane running with it but this year they haven't got it running again, so this time we wanted to run the FS9 with it with it connected to VATSIM so simulation is not so boring.

What I wanted to know is if there is any software out there that could make this happen (connecting FS9 with a fully movable cockpit). I had a look at one of the sites for the software, looks good but can't really understand it and they said something about FSUIPC, well I was wondering could FSUIPC do the job?

But thanks alot for your reply, it was most helpful, looking forward for more replies and answers.

Oo sorry and something else... I think its a GA cockpit, so not really an airliner cockpit so it might not be so common. (To be honouest, I haven't really had a good look at it... lol)

G'day Brendan ,

While this is far from my area of expertise , I believe that if you install an EPIC ( Extended Programmeable Input Controller) , card into your computer , it will transform mechanical inputs to something a computer can read . In its simplest terms, it turns toggle switches and pushbuttons into keystrokes that can be read by any software. You can find out more about it here : http://www.simpits.org/programming/Martin_EPIC/EPIC.html
