Pavel Brodsky Posted September 21, 2014 at 01:25 PM Posted September 21, 2014 at 01:25 PM Hello, thank you for new Euroscope. I have been quite active in organising LKPR_APP trainings with old 3.1d simulator and I am now training myself how to run scenarios on new sim. I am very impressed, it looks much more comfortable, I hope to get used to it soon. However I have few questions: 1) How can I switch on other "virtual" controllers? In ASE I have prepared TWR and GND positions but when I run the scenario there are no other positions active. In the 3.1d there used to be a checkbox "active" or something like this for each position. 2) Initial climb. The LKPR has a rule of initial climb being 5000ft for all departures. Now when I create the scenario all ACFT have pre-set 070 as initial. I have to get simulation of all of them and set it manually to 050. Is here any way how to make it default for them? Also when I set it manually only the "real" initial altitude changes, not the value which the trainee on APP can see and which usually the TWR sets. So is here any way how to also change this thing (like when I am on real vatsim and just click the CFL in departure list)? 3) What are the conditions when the sim pauses itself? I have observed it freezes when separation is lost (STCA ON) but I observed few "random" going to PAUSE mode. Any ideas? 4) Maybe more ASE question but still - is here any way how to make planes continue present heading after p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ing the IAF at the end of their arrival? They tend to turn to the ILS by themselves if they dont receive any instructions prior to reaching IAF (it is described in LKPR SOPs to continue straight ahead and not to turn anywhere when reaching IAF). I know I can click them heading before IAF manually but I mean when I forget about it... 5) Similar to "4". How can I let aircraft fly runway heading as for radar departure? They tend to follow either the [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned SID or when I click no SID there they just turn to the first waypoint of their route... 6) The aircraft in the air are ok but everyone on the ground seems to have default heading "360" when they appear in the scenario however I have changed the heading in the ASE dialog. Why is that? I mean why the ones airborne work and the ground targets are pointing to the north? I had this problem in 3.1d but it was with every single aircraft regardless of being airborne or on ground on initialization - there had to be a parameter change in the scenario.txt after saving from ASE. 7) A feature request - when I increase the simulation speed the time interval before the aircraft appears in the sim is not accelerated. I mean when I set that ie BAW123 shall appear on the beginning of arrival route 10 minutes after scenario starts it is ok on simulation speed 1, but when I play with 16x increased speed I still have to wait 10 minutes, not 10/16 which should be 37,5 seconds... 8 ) What are the runways 13R and 31L which always are there even if I have only specifed 24 and 12 in my scenario? Some rest of the Euroscope original LHBP airport? 9) Edit: I found that some of those issues can be solved by using the ES internal scenario editor instead of ASE. However if I use this ES editor can I somehow upload scenarios to storage without loading them back to ASE? And can I delete scenarios from the online storage if they become obstole (eg. because of STARs change with AIRAC)? Thank you for help. I am attaching the scenario which I am currently testing, fully created by ASE and not edited. Eric Bocaneanu 906549 Posted September 21, 2014 at 05:28 PM Posted September 21, 2014 at 05:28 PM Pavel, Before everything, scenarios created with ASE are not compatible with 3.2 so you must either edit manually or use the integrated scenario editor. 1. You turn them on as in 3.1 via the (almost obsolete) simulator control window which you open from the rightmost button on the simulator toolbar. 2. Just use the initial descend by fix function. It works the same way for climbs and will set as intended the CFL to the controller as well. As for a sync between the pseudopilot and controller for CFL this has been disabled. The ATC should set the CFL independent of what the pseudopilot sets (that way you can simulate a busted altitude conflict). 3. There has been an error where pauses are triggered over the network in Sweatbox from other pseudopilots. It should be fixed in upcoming update. This is separate from the crash detection function which puts the sim in "Crash Detected" mode. 4. Not presently. Although I would see a H260 field readable by the simulator. Will note to Gergely. 5. The only way for now is a fake fix along the runway track plus the predefined routes function. Otherwise just set manually. The fix at no. 4 should cover this as well. 6. The fix for this is using the Scenario Editor and not ASE. You can select precise heading and position on the ground from there. 7. Indeed a worthy change. 8. Since initially there were 4 fixed spots for runways they are predefined for LHBP. As you input 4 runways the predefined ones disappear. 9. Unfortunately I don't see a way to upload to that scenario repository until Craig updates ASE to support 3.2 since you have to open the scenario in ASE first to upload and unknown fields get trashed. Good luck, Eric Eric Bocaneanu ROvACC Director
Pavel Brodsky Posted September 22, 2014 at 10:44 AM Author Posted September 22, 2014 at 10:44 AM Thank you Eric, I think it is clear now. I will try to get used to Scenario editor asap and fix my scenarios using that. It would be awesome to have the few small things you have mentioned fixed in 3.2a but we can live without that... Pavel Brodsky Posted September 26, 2014 at 06:48 AM Author Posted September 26, 2014 at 06:48 AM We are now designing the TWR scenarios. How can I [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ign aircraft to be cleared to ILS by itself without pseudopilot action? I mean, the aircraft should appear automatically ca 1NM before FAF and start following the glideslope without pseudopilot clicking the approach button. Is it possible? Michael Pike Posted September 26, 2014 at 09:11 PM Posted September 26, 2014 at 09:11 PM I put ILS24 (for example) at the end of the $ROUTE (but you have to design a scenario for a specific runway) It would be good if we could just put ILS and ES would find the nearest ILS that it can intercept - it does that already for opening the land and vacate options. Pavel Brodsky Posted October 4, 2014 at 09:01 AM Author Posted October 4, 2014 at 09:01 AM Hello, has anyone reported problems with [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igning mach speed to aircraft? We have tried few ACC scenarios which work quite good, but pseudopilot seems not to be allowed to [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ign a MACH to pilot - we can only select IAS. For example A320 cruising at FL370, we see 444/M.79 likwe TAS and MACH, but when clicking the ASP window we can change only IAS. So how the pseudopilot should quickly know which IAS he should set (and do it only +- 10kt which is WAY not precise enough) when the ATCo wants the aircraft to slow down by 0.01 mach? Any quick solution? Also the pausing is not yet resolved, right? Even with the latest Beta I am getting random pauses on Sweatbox. Pavel Brodsky Posted October 12, 2014 at 07:13 PM Author Posted October 12, 2014 at 07:13 PM Anybody else has problem with mach controlling the aircraft?
