Justin Shannon Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:17 PM Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:17 PM I was not able to reproduce the error on my XP box; however, it's possible that you don't have Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library (or the correct version of it installed), which is necessary to run vATIS: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 Controller (C3), Los Angeles ARTCC Developer: xPilot, vATIS
Teodor Todorov 1262819 Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:38 PM Author Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:38 PM (edited) I have a newer version of Visual C++ 2010 on my PC. Seems that's not a problem here Edited September 23, 2014 at 05:43 PM by Guest
Justin Shannon Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:39 PM Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:39 PM I'm not sure then...is this your first time using vATIS? Or have you used it successfully in the past? Teodor Todorov 1262819 Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:44 PM Author Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:44 PM It is for first time. But that is strange, it's working on my notebook. The both machines are with fresh Windows reinstal. I'm using the same Windows setup version. So the only difference here is the hardware... and drivers
Justin Shannon Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:45 PM Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:45 PM Something's goofy with your main Windows machine setup then... Controller (C3), Los Angeles ARTCC Developer: xPilot, vATIS

Bradley Grafelman Posted September 23, 2014 at 07:13 PM Posted September 23, 2014 at 07:13 PM It's been a while... but this sounds similar to an issue I saw at work when I tried running an app on a Windows XP machine for the first time (they're extremely hard to find, thankfully ) that I had been developing on Windows 7. As I recall, what I ended up doing (among many other things) was completely uninstalling and then reinstalling the relevant Visual C++ redist package and it suddenly started working.
