Kenneth Jones 960823 Posted March 8, 2006 at 01:31 PM Posted March 8, 2006 at 01:31 PM Unfortunately I'm getting really frustrated . I have fs2004 and I can't get the multiplayer to work at all. I have Squakbox 3 and it SHOULD automatically go to multiplayer but it tells me that it can't be done that way and I have to start multiplayer manually. When I get to that point I realize I don't know what IP to use. It stinks being in Vatsim but seeing my traffic-2005 traffic instead of the virtual traffic. Can someone help me? Scott Eastwood Posted March 8, 2006 at 02:40 PM Posted March 8, 2006 at 02:40 PM Hi Kenneth, if your having to join the Multiplayer session manually then it should appear in the available sessions to join when you select Multiplayer, Join. Are you running FS2004 and SB3 on the same PC? Scott.
Kenneth Jones 960823 Posted March 8, 2006 at 03:18 PM Author Posted March 8, 2006 at 03:18 PM Wow! Thanks for responding so fast. Yes I am using both programs on one computer. When I go to multiplayer, should I be putting anything in the IP block first, then hit join? I'm able to talk to ATC and they can see me. I just can't see the people in the air. Scott Eastwood Posted March 8, 2006 at 03:20 PM Posted March 8, 2006 at 03:20 PM Hi, you shouldn't have to put anyhting in the IP block, FS should detect the multiplayer session created by SB3 automatically and disply it in the available sessions to join. You can try putting 127.0.0.1 in the IP block, that tells FS to look on the PC it is running on for multiplayer sessions. That is not technically what it is but I'm no network guru. That used to work for the older SB 2.3. Scott
Kenneth Jones 960823 Posted March 8, 2006 at 03:30 PM Author Posted March 8, 2006 at 03:30 PM I think I tried that exact thing last night with that IP(I read about it), but when I pressed join nothing happened and no sessions displayed. The join button is going in and out and it's not freezing anything up. It's like it excepts what I'm doing but nothing happens. Does it take a while for a session to show up? I've also been reading that if you disable your firewall and anti-virus it could lear up a lot of problems with multiplayer functions.
John Hogan 810548 Posted May 25, 2006 at 04:21 PM Posted May 25, 2006 at 04:21 PM Have the same prob. SB3 connects and I can talk to ATC, but I STILL see my FSTraffic planes flying around. If I try to connect manually in FS multiplayer, it never finds a session. I've reinstalled SB3, FSNav (btw, also cannot connect). Running FS2004 on my "G" drive.... Never mind. Reinstalled FS and all is well...... John H. "Hmm...That doesn't sound good...(BEEP..BEEP..BEEP..BEEEEEEEEP....)"
