Mark Sternig 827987 Posted March 9, 2006 at 10:22 AM Posted March 9, 2006 at 10:22 AM Hi, I tried logging on to VATSIM tonight with mixed results... I could change frequencies on my radio (in FS) and talk to the controllers. NICE! I could see myself on Servinfo after logging on. NICE! I could see other aircraft flying / taxiing on FSNav (multiplayer). NICE! I can't see other aircraft though. I mean I can't visually see any aircraft from the cockpit or any other view. Am I missing somthing here? Everything seems to work great but I can't see anyone "through the window" but I can see them on FSNav after joining 127.0.0.1 multiplayer. Are there ports I need to open on my firewall? Thank you in advance. Mark
Norman Blackburn Posted March 9, 2006 at 02:56 PM Posted March 9, 2006 at 02:56 PM Mark, Have you joined the SB3 multiplayer session using FS? Click onflight, multiplayer. Does it say join? Norman
Mark Sternig 827987 Posted March 10, 2006 at 04:23 AM Author Posted March 10, 2006 at 04:23 AM I don't see any sessions to join in the multiplayer screen. Here's what I did: Start FS, start flight with aircraft parked on ramp, start squawk box and connect sucessfully, Go to flights > multiplayer > connect... Then I type in my tail number for user name and type 127.0.0.1 for IP, click search, but no sessions appear. I have checked to make sure the settings are set to the default port, even tried different ports but to no avail. I'm stumped. Forgive me if I'm missing somthing obvious and thanks in advance for your help! Mark
Norman Blackburn Posted March 10, 2006 at 08:21 AM Posted March 10, 2006 at 08:21 AM Go to the settings and change the port to 23457 from its default 23456. Did that work? Norman
Mark Sternig 827987 Posted March 12, 2006 at 08:34 AM Author Posted March 12, 2006 at 08:34 AM I really don't know what is going wrong. I have tried many different things to get this fixed. I have put myself on DMZ to eliminate firewall issues, I have tried running Squawkbox from the target Squawkbox.exe as well as within FS, I've tried using 127.0.0.1 and blank IPs, I've tried switching ports, as suggested, but still to no avail. I think my next step is to reinstal Windows from scratch and again go from the step by step instructions... Any ideas are welcome! Mark
Joe Mifsud 928114 Posted March 12, 2006 at 03:00 PM Posted March 12, 2006 at 03:00 PM I'm also having problems with this, however, I am in the multiplayer session. I see myself and SB3, but nobody else, and I know for a fact that theres an aircraft right next to me! How do I fix this?
