Matt Jensen 1275023 Posted October 21, 2014 at 05:32 AM Posted October 21, 2014 at 05:32 AM Hi there everyone, I have received a quote of a new PC that I am thinking about buying. I would just like to know if this set up would be good enough to run FSX with pretty good graphics/scenery as well as recording. Here is the quote: -Intel i5-4690k 3.5GHz -Gigabyte G1-SNIPER-M5 -Kingston HyperX Predator 8G kit (4Gx2) DDR3 2400 -Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 OC 3GB -Seagate 3.5: Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003 SATA3 7200 RPM 64MB HDD -Coolermaster RC-K350 USB3.0 Gaming Case w/side window. No PSU -Samsung SATA 22 x Black DVD RW - 1 Year Warranty -Microsoft MS Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit OEM I am wondering if this is enough to run FSX with pretty much max graphics/scenery as well as recording. I am also not sure if to change the processor to an Intel i7, or the graphics card to a Nividia GeForce GTX 760/770, and if I did, would there be much difference if I were to change one or both of these two options (performance wise). Thank-you, any help appreciated! -Matt
Luke Kolin Posted October 21, 2014 at 01:05 PM Posted October 21, 2014 at 01:05 PM There's debate on whether HyperThreading actually does anything significant to FSX or P3D. Personally, if you have extra budget you're probably better off getting 2 8GB sticks and a 128GB or 256GB SSD in addition to the hard drive. Cheers! Luke ... I spawn hundreds of children a day.
