Scott Norton 1241275 Posted October 25, 2014 at 06:57 PM Posted October 25, 2014 at 06:57 PM (edited) Every now and then, I get a TCAS alert, and when I go to inspect my ND, I see the problem target changing altitude rapidly, yet there is usually no actual traffic in that location. EDIT: I stand corrected. Concurrent with the TCAS alert, a B77W I've been following with 2000 ft vertical separation has shown a break in its contrails. Scott Norton 1241275 Posted October 25, 2014 at 08:19 PM Author Posted October 25, 2014 at 08:19 PM I revised my initial post with new information. The TCAS alert happens with aircraft that have been in visual range for a while without ever becoming a factor, coupled with an interruption in the contrails. You don't need Red Bull to get your wings.
