Johan Grauers Posted November 4, 2014 at 09:18 PM Posted November 4, 2014 at 09:18 PM My older euroscope playback files all contain voice as well as the radar screen and chats. Now I'm looking at one I made a few weeks back with 3.2 and I can't hear any voice, has voice recording been removed or am I doing something wrong? I can hear the ES built in stuff (like the chat "pop") but no RT recordings. Johan Grauers Event Coordinator - vACC Scandinavia
Michael Pike Posted November 4, 2014 at 09:55 PM Posted November 4, 2014 at 09:55 PM Hmm. Just tried the one I did tonight - no voice. I'm fairly sure I have had this working on 3.2. The voice files are certainly produced - I've got a feeling that I may be inadvertently overwriting the key file. I say Yes to the question at the end about saving the automatic log and keeping the default filename - this will overwrite the text file that is created by the logging process that is activated when you click Start Logging at the beginning. I need to check this next time - if I'm right the answer is to say No to automatic logging at the end. Mike Pike VATSIM-UK

If this is the case, is there any way to make sure the "save session data" option does not overwrite old logs? I tend not to log as a habit but sometimes you want to save a session which turned interesting for one reason or another. Michael Pike Posted November 7, 2014 at 03:40 PM Posted November 7, 2014 at 03:40 PM Yes. I was right. The logging facility works exactly as in 3.1d But the option to save data at the end only saves the radar log not the voice files. And as far as I can see, you can't replay the voice files except by replaying the radar log that was recorded with them. So to achieve what you want, you must click Start Logging at the beginning just as you used to in 3.1d but then you must also not save the data at the end using the default filename - it overwrites without warning!! It serves no purpose to say yes because you already have the file you want. I have done it routinely for several years. I hardly ever review the logs but when something happens of note, I know I can check afterwards. This has confused me since 3.2 came out so I'm glad I finally checked it all out - I didn't realise I was losing the voice until you mentioned it! That solves that then, a shame in a way voice isn't logged, but I suppose I shouldn't complain because in the past I constantly forgot to start logging even when I planned to Johan Grauers Event Coordinator - vACC Scandinavia
