Thomas Parker Posted March 12, 2006 at 02:26 AM Posted March 12, 2006 at 02:26 AM Excellent Job guys. I had a wonderful time!! I know the controllers and pilots both were dealing with server splits. Despite that, everything was great! Now that's what I'm talking about!! Abundant ATC! And just like real-life, my flight plan took me north and west of Dulles. Once airborne, I got vectored south and east! Beautiful. Wonderful job. Here's me on the south side of Dulles going eastbound up to Providence. Anyone else with screenies or stories? Throw 'em on the table! Tom
Matthew Horan 901577 Posted March 12, 2006 at 03:31 AM Posted March 12, 2006 at 03:31 AM Looks like it was a blast -- howcome you have Green, Red, and Yellow ATC? Matt www.vatsim.net/prc
Thomas Parker Posted March 12, 2006 at 03:43 AM Author Posted March 12, 2006 at 03:43 AM I haven't read the XSquawkBox manual enough to know that yet. But in trying to find an answer for you, I discovered there's a .atis command to get a controller's ATIS info. I could have used that tonight Seriously, I don't know. Matthew Horan 901577 Posted March 12, 2006 at 03:58 AM Posted March 12, 2006 at 03:58 AM hah, ok. I wasn't sure what client it was at first, either. Thought it might have been FSInn, but XSquawkBox blew my mind Matt www.vatsim.net/prc
Ben Abes 938374 Posted March 12, 2006 at 05:45 PM Posted March 12, 2006 at 05:45 PM - Green are active controllers - Yellow are observers - Red are supervisors I don't know what the red controllers are, nor do I know if the .break/.nobreak command changes the status either. Nicholas Bartolotta 912967 Posted March 12, 2006 at 05:56 PM Posted March 12, 2006 at 05:56 PM I don't know what the red controllers are... Red controllers are controllers that are in a bad mood, and you want to avoid (J/K) Nick Bartolotta - ZSE Instructor, pilot at large "Just fly it on down to within a inch of the runway and let it drop in from there." - Capt. Richard Green 810012 Posted March 12, 2006 at 09:16 PM Posted March 12, 2006 at 09:16 PM Nah I can think of too many ways to use IVAO in that sentence so I will just keep them ALL to myself In all seriousness, it was a great event... yeah I was the red JFK_V_TWR and I had a blast ( once the servers calmed down ) It just goes to show you that us "yanks" can pull an overload just as well as the "limeys" Richard Green VATSIM Supervisor SB Testing & Support Team VRC Testing & Support Team
Ben Abes 938374 Posted March 12, 2006 at 09:31 PM Posted March 12, 2006 at 09:31 PM If Richard is a Sup, then it must code supervisors that are controlling red as well...
Matthew Horan 901577 Posted March 12, 2006 at 10:03 PM Posted March 12, 2006 at 10:03 PM I figured that out when I noticed the other two red ones were also controllers Matt www.vatsim.net/prc
Nicholas Bartolotta 912967 Posted March 12, 2006 at 10:08 PM Posted March 12, 2006 at 10:08 PM In all seriousness, it was a great event... yeah I was the red JFK_V_TWR and I had a blast ( once the servers calmed down) When did you sign off? I flew into LGA and parked around 9pm EST, and then started up at JFK for a flight north. Sat on the dang hold short line for a good 20 minutes because of all the traffic, but it was fun seeing a 747 land almost on top of an A320 Nick Bartolotta - ZSE Instructor, pilot at large "Just fly it on down to within a inch of the runway and let it drop in from there." - Capt.
