Dear all

I would like to invite applications to fill the position of vACC Ireland's Training Director. Andreas has been holding on to that seat as Interim Training Director during the transition period as the vACC moves onwards towards our goals. The situation is now stable enough to appoint somebody on a permanent basis. There is significant demand on training resources and it is important somebody who will be dedicated in the service of the vACC coordinating the ongoing training efforts takes this seat.

The duties of the Training Director shall be as follows:

  • Recruit and manage a team of mentors;
  • Develop and oversee the development of training resources, material and publications;
  • Recommend members to the vACC Director for Instructor ratings;
  • Ensure training is expeditious and of a good standard;
  • Confirm and ensure compliance with all relevant VATSIM policies, including VATEUD Division Policy, VATEUR Regional Policy, and Executive Committee Policies;
  • Inducting new members into the ATC training processes and ensuring they feel welcome and well informed;
  • Management of the Solo Controller, and Major Airport Validation List;
  • Other duties as required by the vACC Director.

Essential attributes:

  • A C1 or C3 rating (excluding administrative ratings as [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned);
  • At least 18 years of age;
  • Previous experience in a position of responsibility;
  • Demonstrable leadership experience and ability;
  • An understanding of ATC training and experience of mentoring for every level, (Aerodrome, Approach and Enroute);
  • A pragmatic and diplomatic approach to problem solving, yet resilient in character;
  • Able to commit at least one hour a day to administrative tasks, in addition to other training duties;
  • The intention to commit to the role for at least two years.

Desirable attributes:

  • A P1 Pilot Rating;
  • A current or previous member of vACC Ireland;[/li]A past or present instructor rating.

Please include a short CV with a covering letter, that addresses at a minimum each of the essential attributes to [email protected]. The vacancy will remain open until a suitable candidate is appointed. All applicants will be appraised of the outcome of their applications.

Best regards

Callum
