Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted December 13, 2014 at 06:04 PM Board of Governors Posted December 13, 2014 at 06:04 PM Absolutely! As a matter of fact, you are highly encouraged, at least when being provided Air Traffic Control services, to use an aircraft you are comfortable, competent and proficient in. My personal rule of thumb is to gain basic competence in an aircraft offline (or not under ATC), and build proficiency (or fly aircraft that I am already proficient in) under ATC. There are no hard restrictions, but when under ATC, it makes the experience so much better to follow that general guideline. Thank you for asking!
