Scott Bedard 1090682 Posted January 10, 2015 at 03:52 AM Posted January 10, 2015 at 03:52 AM I cannot file a flight plan using the Flight Plan Management page on Vatsim: https://cert.vatsim.net/fp/file.php I have to use this page because: 1) I'm using P3d and have to use vPilot 2) I belong to the VPA and they have a form the makes an API call to Vatsim. See #3 2) vPilot can't enter an altitude of 4500' in the format VPA needs to recognize that altitude. I can put A045 in the vatsim page and that is what I need. Here are my entry values and error: http://scottybed.smugmug.com/Miscellaneous/i-6W86CsV/2/L/Capture-L.png Any ideas?

Scott Bedard 1090682 Posted January 10, 2015 at 04:23 AM Author Posted January 10, 2015 at 04:23 AM I tried FL045 and that didn't work either. Very, very frustrating getting an abstract error message back. Thanks for reply. cant say im familiar with altitudes being entered as A045, definitely never heard of it in the US. see here for the accepted formathttp://www.vatsim.net/pilots/file-flightplan
Bradley Grafelman Posted January 10, 2015 at 05:34 AM Posted January 10, 2015 at 05:34 AM If your VA requires you to file flight plans with altitudes in the form of "A045", you need to refer that VA's technical folks to those at VATSIM, because they're doing something terribly wrong. Entering the exact same details but using an appropriate representation of the altitude ("4500") resulted in a successful prefile. (I'm too lazy to open my sim, but I'd be willing to wager the same would hold true if filed from within vPilot as well.)
Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted January 10, 2015 at 04:26 PM Posted January 10, 2015 at 04:26 PM Scott in the US, Flight Levels dont start until you are over 17999ft, IE 18000ft would be FL180. below that though everything is entered in feet. 4,500ft would be entered as 4500 as Brad mentioned above. i doubt the form checks for that but just worth noting.
