Alex Toby 1284263 Posted January 31, 2015 at 05:44 PM Posted January 31, 2015 at 05:44 PM Been playing Vpilot for quite a while now and keep getting the same error every time, 'Cannot find Vpilot, make sure you've typed the name right'. I've tried uninstalling it and installing it again and again but no sucess. Please Help!
Ross Carlson Posted January 31, 2015 at 05:48 PM Posted January 31, 2015 at 05:48 PM Where are you "typing" vPilot? Don't you just launch it from the programs list or a shortcut icon? Alex Toby 1284263 Posted January 31, 2015 at 06:42 PM Author Posted January 31, 2015 at 06:42 PM I launched the launcher and installed it and then started the program from its shortcut icon but it says it cannot find the directory.
Ross Carlson Posted January 31, 2015 at 06:44 PM Posted January 31, 2015 at 06:44 PM I have no clue what could cause that issue ... if the install succeeded, the shortcut should point to the installed location of vPilot. Enter this in your start menu search box: %localappdata%\vPilot Do you see the installed vPilot files including vPilot.exe? Alex Toby 1284263 Posted January 31, 2015 at 06:47 PM Author Posted January 31, 2015 at 06:47 PM Yes it sends me to the directory where the Vpilot.exe is but for some reason it still doesn't work

Ross Carlson Posted January 31, 2015 at 07:04 PM Posted January 31, 2015 at 07:04 PM It says that when you double click directly on the exe file? (NOT the shortcut!) Ross Carlson Posted January 31, 2015 at 07:12 PM Posted January 31, 2015 at 07:12 PM I don't see how it's possible that Windows would say it can't find a file when you are clicking on the actual file itself. I'm not sure if that virus could interfere with clicking the exe itself, or just when using shortcuts or start menu entries. Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted January 31, 2015 at 07:49 PM Posted January 31, 2015 at 07:49 PM not sure there, i got the sircam on my old setup about 7 years ago or so and i remember all my .exe's were pretty much returning the same error. once those worms attach they pretty much just make them shells. hoping thats not what hes got, but probably worth a scan with a reliable antivirus program. Were you launching those exes through shortcuts/start menu or by double clicking directly on the exe itself in a Windows Explorer window? Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted January 31, 2015 at 07:57 PM Posted January 31, 2015 at 07:57 PM couldnt tell ya from memory. my normal routine though is launch from the shortcut, if not go to the folder and launch it from there if the first one fails. but i cant be certain if thats what i did back then
