Martin Loxbo Posted February 2, 2015 at 02:47 PM Posted February 2, 2015 at 02:47 PM Since yesterday my Avast Antivirus does not like to play along with vRoute. Short of having the antivirus turned off every time I start vRoute, is there any solution to this? Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted February 2, 2015 at 03:39 PM Board of Governors Posted February 2, 2015 at 03:39 PM Avast is well-known to be extremely restrictive. Does it allow you to except individual programs? Don Desfosse Vice President, Operations
Morten Jelle Posted February 2, 2015 at 04:05 PM Posted February 2, 2015 at 04:05 PM I noticed that since yesterday aswell. Unfortunately Avast is very aggresive here, and recognises the *.zip file, you download from the website as a Evo-gen virus file. I have tried to see if it is possible to make an exception, however with no luck so far. The only person who is able to do anything is Michal, so we will have to wait, until he has a solution. Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted February 2, 2015 at 04:12 PM Board of Governors Posted February 2, 2015 at 04:12 PM Are you able to suspend Avira, open the zip and install the program, and then resume Avira? Martin Loxbo Posted February 2, 2015 at 04:24 PM Author Posted February 2, 2015 at 04:24 PM Like Morten I have tried to make exceptions with no luck. I can disable Avast, reinstall vRoute and then open the program as long as Avast is disabled, but it looks like once the virus scan is enabled it will disable vRoute necessating another reinstall. Harrison Waltman Posted February 2, 2015 at 04:28 PM Posted February 2, 2015 at 04:28 PM Martin: Which version of avast do you have? I think I found a solution.
Harrison Waltman Posted February 2, 2015 at 04:38 PM Posted February 2, 2015 at 04:38 PM If you are running the latest version: 1. Go to Settings < Active Protection 2. Next to File System Shield, click Customize 3. Uncheck the box that says "Scan programs when executing" I know it is a complete disabling of the feature, but you will still remain fairly secure

Wygene Chong 1089621 Posted February 4, 2015 at 12:49 AM Posted February 4, 2015 at 12:49 AM In case anyone is waiting for an update on this, I have updated my virus definitions and reinstalled vRoute, which fixed the problem. Morten Jelle Posted February 4, 2015 at 04:17 PM Posted February 4, 2015 at 04:17 PM Yep - I can confirm that it works for me too. The new virus definitions published by avast, doesn't recognize vroute as a virus anymore.
