FSX - Runtime C+.. error

Hello,

 

Something interesting that happened just now like half an hour back.

My friend and I were flying from Innsbruck - he was lined up on runway 08 ready for take off and I was holding short on A.

 

All of a sudden both of us at the same time got something like runtime C+.... and then FSX stopped responding and eventually stopped working.

 

This is the second time I notice such thing - before when I was approaching Lahore, I put both my comms on and activated atis frequency on comm2, and that time my vPilot stopped working.

 

I don't know what is wrong but seems to be some sort of an issue with the latest update because before that update I never had any problems. I just re-installed vPilot and hoping not to get any problems during my next flight.

 

Are my friend and I the only ones who saw such error?

normally vpilot will throw that error after FSX has crashed. meaning something caused FSX to crash, which in turn caused vpilot to crash since fsx was gone. its a cascade affect, one thing crashes which leads to the other application(s) crashing

 

try opening your windows event viewer, find the crash report for FSX. itll clue in on whats going on

A C++ runtime error wouldn't be coming from vPilot ... vPilot would throw a .NET framework error. The C++ error is coming from something else, maybe FSX, maybe some other add-on. If you and another pilot both got it at the same time, I'm guessing it came from FSX as a result of an aircraft model being added to the session and that model has a corrupt model or texture file. Are you both running the same AI traffic package and vPilot model matching rules? If so, which one(s)?

Yes we both use IVAO MTL for model matching.

 

Would there be a way to know which file might have caused it? Does that crash report include such details?

No, afraid not. Best you can do is run vPilot in debug mode and see if it logs the model name used to create the aircraft model that causes the FSX crash. You could also try running a model test in the vPilot debug window (open it with .debug) and see if it causes a crash when it steps through all your loaded model matching rules and creates an aircraft with each model.

So it looks like it made it through the model set test with no crashes ... but you're missing some of the models that the .vmr file refers to.

Is it possible to delete those missing models out of the .vmr files and have them go to the default A321?
