Director of the Irish vACC (VATEUD)

Dear all

 

I would like to invite applications to fill the position of Director of the Irish vACC. There is significant demand on training resources and it is important somebody who will be dedicated in the service of the vACC coordinating the ongoing training efforts takes this seat. There are numerous developments ongoing which should make life easier going forward, but it is essential applicants are committed to the continued development of the vACC.

 

The duties of the Director shall be as follows:

 

  • Leadership of the vACC and its members;
  • Recruit and lead a team of staff;
  • Process Instructor rating recommendations;
  • Ensure training is expeditious and of a good standard;
  • Confirm and ensure compliance with all relevant VATSIM policies, including VATEUD Division Policy, VATEUR Regional Policy, and Executive Committee Policies;
  • Inducting new members into the vACC in accordance with the EC TVCP and ensuring they feel welcome and well informed;
  • Management of the Solo Controller, and Major Airport Validation List in conjunction with the Training Director;
  • Ensuring good order and discipline within the vACC's web systems;
  • Other duties as required by the needs of the vACC, and VATEUD.

 

Essential attributes:

 

  • A C1 or C3 rating (excluding administrative ratings as [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned);
  • At least 18 years of age;
  • Previous experience in a position of responsibility;
  • Demonstrable leadership experience and ability;
  • An understanding of ATC training and experience of mentoring for every level, (Aerodrome, Approach and Enroute);
  • A pragmatic and diplomatic approach to problem solving, yet resilient in character;
  • Able to commit at least one hour a day to administrative tasks, in addition to other training duties;
  • The intention to commit to the role for at least two years.

 

 

Desirable attributes:

  • A P1 Pilot Rating;
  • A current or previous member of vACC Ireland.
