I am using X-Squawkbox for the first time.

Before Connect/login I fill in my information (screenshot).

But I cannot type my full name.

While typing my last name a black box appears (screenshot) and I cannot type more characters.

So, I logged in with just my first name.

I got a text message from supervisor to log off then log in with my full name.

I need help with the Real Name BOX data entry.

Lastly I will get audio etc set up as observer ....

I have to do all this in FS9, FSX, P3D and Xplane .. over the past week(s) using (Vpilot, Vroute and SB4) or so got some done in FSX but have more to do.

I am learning this new stuff as I go.

What do I click on to edit a post?

I wanted to mention that I would have type a response to the Supervisor while on-line but I did not know how to do that .. so I just disconnected and posted a msg here in the forum.

That's really strange...I would enter it manually into the XSB config file if that is happening

Editing is the gear symbol in the top right, then in the menu

I could not find the ini file on my hard drive.

Maybe you could tell me the path to the file on your system ... then I will be able to locate it on my PC and edit it with Notepad.

"C:\X-Plane 10\Resources\plugins\XSquawkBox\Resources\XSquawkBox Prefs" [Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming your X-Plane is installed in "C:\X-Plane 10".

Maybe your E or L key is [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to some other function of XP or XSB which is grabbing the keyboard. What happens if you delete the whole name and just write "Hello"? And can you write a string of text which is the same length as your name, like "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"?

I do not have this:

\XSquawkBox Prefs

Mine is like thei e.g. :

F:\Steam\steamapps\common\X-Plane 10\Resources\plugins\XSquawkBox\Resources

"Maybe your E or L key is [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to some other function of XP or XSB which is grabbing the keyboard. "

That is what's happening ........... but a data entry box should not get is data trapped like that ...?? It should have the focus.

I have not [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned "L's" or other keys that I know of.

I am new to Xplane 10 and XSB ........

Could this be a problem with the XSB plugin?

Make sure the XSquawkBox\Resources folder has not been set to read-only.

I did later see the perf file but it was not a config/config.ini or .txt file .. like other file in the folder so I did not try to open it.

Actually I was looking for a config.ini or a config.txt file that could be edited by user.

Initially when mentioned: C:\X-Plane 10\Resources\plugins\XSquawkBox\Resources\XSquawkBox Prefs

I was looking for a folder with that name : \XSquawkBox Prefs

Thinking an ini file was inside ....

Sorry I got it wrong.

Have a good evening.

Vaughan Martell
