Sasta Sudhakaran 1278918 Posted March 30, 2015 at 11:04 PM Posted March 30, 2015 at 11:04 PM Hello, For the past few days I have been receiving fatal errors 10-30 mins into every flight I do. FSX freazes and then reloads and reopens with this message: http://imageshack.com/a/img633/9816/yGYQrJ.png How do I fix this? I've tried a system restore to back when it was doing this but that didn't work.
Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted March 31, 2015 at 02:13 AM Board of Governors Posted March 31, 2015 at 02:13 AM Jeff, please check Windows Event Viewer, and report what the faulting module name is (or better yet, copy/paste the log). Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Event Viewer, select Custom Views-> Administrative Events. One of the listed events will be for your CTD. The "Faulting Module" should point to the problem area. Tell us what the Faulting Module is. That will point us in the direction of the proper error, aiding in troubleshooting. Below is just an example of what you will see. ----- General Tab: Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb14 Faulting module name: This is what we need to know! Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000ee3a Faulting process id: 0x748 Faulting application start time: 0x01ce0253dc4b69d4 Faulting application path: D:\FSX\fsx.exe Faulting module path: D:\FSX\window.dll Report Id: 9caf77b4-6e50-11e2-8570-3085a99825d1 ----- Many times, it's sim1.dll. This seems to point to faulty scenery and/or aircraft textures. Have you installed any of either recently? Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted April 3, 2015 at 04:51 PM Posted April 3, 2015 at 04:51 PM the exception code is a memory access violation. but what it has to do with the controls.dll im not sure. is that from an addon? an access violation is basically when the sim asked for memory, it wasnt available, so it has no choice but to shut it down. Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted April 3, 2015 at 05:40 PM Board of Governors Posted April 3, 2015 at 05:40 PM Have you changed anything recently, like adding new scenery or aircraft? What happens if you do the flight at a very different airport (eg hundreds of miles away)? Don Desfosse Vice President, Operations
