VPILOT CONNECTING TO VOICE SERVER BUT BUZZ WHEN PRESSING PPT

Hey guys! I have had a problem with Vpilot for which I require help very urgently! I have not been able to fly in Light Up America for this issue

 

I am connecting to the network using and tuning in the correct frequency. After tuning the frequency, I hear the sound which tells me that I am connected to the controller voice channel. But the issue is when I press the PTT key, there is a buzz sound(the one I get in a text only frequency) but at the same time, my TX button is lighting up in Vpilot. The frequency is also blue in colour. The controller confirms that he cannot hear me, nor can I hear anyone. I can read and write text messages in the frequency though. I have checked my audio settings and the selected speaker and mic is the correct one. I have searched the whole VATSIM and VRC forums but didn't find a correct solution. Below I have listed the things I have done to fix the issue:

1. Toggled between Direct and Wave Sound

2. Changed PPT key

3. Disconnecting and reconnecting

4. Reinstalled Vpilot 1000 times with the latest version

5. Allowed Vpilot through firewall

6. Turned the entire Firewall off

7. Forwarded the UDP3290 port into my router. I am not sure what I did but I followed this manual: http://www.boutell.com/newfaq/creating/forwardports.html

The manual tells me to put IP (192.168.2.1) but when I put that, the DLink page gave me this error. "Port Forwarding 'LAN IP Address''s IP address should be within LAN subnet"

8. Thinking this was a Windows problem, I even updated my Windows but no luck.

 

***SOME POINTS TO BE NOTED***

1. I am using Vpilot since May last year. I have NEVER EVER encountered this type of error.

2. Before I encountered this problem, I had reinstalled FSX just a few days ago and this was my first flight after the reinstallation. I tried multiple frequencies and multiple locations but no luck. However, I donot think FSX had anything to do with this as said before, I reinstalled Vpilot many times.

3. I don't know whether it is related or not but I am also having issues connecting to the Teamspeak server. It gives me the error, "Failed to connect to the server". However, I am having no issues with Euroscope while controlling.

Guys, please help me out as soon as possible! What do I do without Vpilot? I have never ever experienced this error before. Hope you guys can help me out.

*UPDATE*

I forgot to add that Vpilot mic calibration gave me superb results. I heard my voice very clearly. I have also used that mic in many other places and made sure that it was not a mic problem. I also have Vpilot and FSUIPC latest version.

Don't know how this issue popped up all of a sudden after one year :/

Was the "TX/RX" text white in color for COM1? Perhaps your aircraft's radios had COM2 selected for transmit but had both enabled for receiving? You can confirm this by typing ".com 1" in the vPilot window to force it to change to COM1 for transmitting.

Nope. I can confirm I was transmitting on COM1. I never ever use COM2 radios and have disabled those in vpilot. Only the TX light of COM1 was lighting up. COM2 TX and RX is shaded with black colour. It never lights up.

By the way, Teamspeak is working fine now... the problem is only with vpilot. I could connect to teamspeak from my phone.

You say Teamspeak is working on your phone, but that's not relevant here, since vPilot doesn't run on your phone. Does Teamspeak work on the computer on which you run vPilot?

Hey Ross!

Sorry for the incorrect information but COM2 is not "disabled"or shaded. I probably mixed it up with some other software. Com2 is there but whenever I press the PTT key, TX of COM2 never lights up. Instead COM1 TX lights up. I never use COM 2 anyway. The frequency also changes in COM 2 when I change it in the aircraft. About teamspeak, I will have to check it out. Anyway, any other suggestions?

If you hear the tone that indicates you have joined the voice room, but you still get the buzzer when trying to transmit, that suggests that the connection to the voice server is being blocked at some point. Usually this is caused by antivirus or firewall software.

Well, I don't have any antivirus except Windows Defender.. I also disabled the firewall and even made an exception for vpilot in firewall but to no avail...

Yay guys! The issue has been solved. I was able to connect to Teamspeak from my phone and also from my computer. I started Vpilot, asked for a radio check and BOOM! The controller heard me...!!

 

Well, for the people who have the same problem and are reading this thread, just do the above instructions as listed ( I don't think that helped me in anyway) just in case. My issue was probably my internet connection and not a Vpilot error.
