Sasta Sudhakaran 1278918 Posted June 20, 2015 at 03:31 AM Posted June 20, 2015 at 03:31 AM Hello, I currently am using FSX and have tweaked my cfg and nvidia inspector and achieve 20-30FPS. I am running a i7 4790K, GTX 760, and 8GB RAM. Would I be achieving better performance if I switched to P3D?
Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted June 20, 2015 at 04:57 AM Posted June 20, 2015 at 04:57 AM im surprised thats all you are getting with that in FSX. that 4790 alone should be kicking FSX's butt. before anything you need to find out whats causing your frames to stay that low, my old PC gets those frames (old AMD dual core), yours should be way way higher with those specs
Jiri Kocman 1325671 Posted July 16, 2015 at 03:00 PM Posted July 16, 2015 at 03:00 PM Low frame rate is propably due to high AntiAliasing with mediocore GPU. Wit P3Dv2 you will have lower FPS with same setting. It is more GPU intensive than FSX... I was run FSX with MSI GTX970 Gaming with 8xSGSSAA (combined 8xMSAA and 24xSSAA in DX10 settings - 32xDX10 AA) everything set to maximum including light bloom and scenery ground shadows on. All 30FPS locked with not intensive aircraft and not heavy populated urban areas in any weather condition. Now I have MSI GTX980 Gaming edition and with P3Dv2 I can't set this value of AA with heavy clouds and for fight shimmering I have to use DSR instead of SGSS which is many times better than DSR
