Alex Vletsas 868582 Posted March 26, 2006 at 05:32 PM Posted March 26, 2006 at 05:32 PM Can anyone advise on why I have no voice with SB3 installed? My system settings are OK, I chose the correct sound drivers for SB, Mic is activated and calibrated and generally all in order. When however I press the PTT button, I hear a "parasite" sound for about 1sec.
Craig Moulton Posted March 26, 2006 at 06:39 PM Posted March 26, 2006 at 06:39 PM By Parasite, do you mean a buzz? If that is the case, it means that you are not tuned to a voice enabled controller. Keep in mind that there must be an ATC in range and showing in your SB3 ATC window, and that you must tune your Com radio to the same fequency that is shown next to the Controllers ATC position. However, keep in mind that not ALL ATC'ers out there use Voice. They may be Text only, but that would be shown at the bottom of the SB3 window, in the right hand corner. If the Frequency is voice and text, it will say "Tuned to XXX.XX Voice + Text". Fly Safe! Have Fun! Craig Moulton
Alex Vletsas 868582 Posted March 26, 2006 at 08:53 PM Author Posted March 26, 2006 at 08:53 PM Thanks, didn't notice that. But isn't the Unicom frequency supposed to be voice and text?
Craig Moulton Posted March 26, 2006 at 09:19 PM Posted March 26, 2006 at 09:19 PM No. Unicom is Text only. Fly Safe! Have Fun! Craig Moulton
