Some connection problems and seeing other aircraft

I'm having a small problem with seeing other aircraft while connected. Some players I can see and but other I cannot when I know for a fact they are there. Also, when asking those pilots I can see, they cannot see my aircraft. Every resourse I can check indicates I am connected without issue. I have tried reconnecting multiple times but the problem still persists. Im rather new to VATSIM and would realy apreciate anyone who can help me out. Thanks in advance.

A good palce to start would be to say, whether you are using SB3 or FSINN, and which version.

If it really matters to see the aircraft (IE, following on taxi, clrd vis follow the traffic) - ask for his callsign. Send him a PM. You'll get the A/C show up, most times

Hi all. I have just started "using" Vatsim / SB 3 however as mentioned by Benjamin I cannot see ANY other aircraft. I can hear them on the radio and see the ATC text (I also get automatic weather updates) but I just cannot see any other aircraft. Yesterday I sat at London City tuned to the controller and heard one aircraft depart and one land via ATC yet nothing was visible. What is the most likely cause for this please? And also which IP address should I be using for the multiplayer connection as I cannot find an answer for that anywhere and wonder if this is part of the problem? Thanks to anyone who can help!

Oh and I forgot to mention in the post above that I am using FS2002 if this makes a difference?

with FS2002 you have to manually join the multiplayer session created by SB3 by joining with FS2002 as a client.

I was trying to start the multiplayer session BEFORE I created my flight, etc. So for anyone who ever comes here with this FS2002 problem you have to start your flight as normal, then start SB3 from the FSmenu bar (i.e connect to the server) & THEN start your multiplayer game. Only then is the squawkbox session listed as a multiplayer session. Doh, so simple now.

 

Thanks for making me look in the right place Martin (and for saving me from ripping out any more hairs and wires!)
