Randy Tyndall 1087023 Posted September 12, 2015 at 11:39 PM Posted September 12, 2015 at 11:39 PM I have Windows Update set to manual. Usually a couple of weeks after the traditional "second Tuesday" date I will run Windows Updater and see what would have been installed if I had Update set to automatic...and then pick and choose. Over at the AVSIM Forums I stumbled on this... http://www.avsim.com/topic/474593-help-fs9-is-not-starting/ I have reviewed the September 2015 Updates but have not installed anything yet. Just curious if anyone running FS2004 let the updates for September 8, 2015 run and then still got in to FS2004. According to what I read this update basically disables secdrv.sys which is an anti-piracy copy protection that is used by many games developers and some other software companies. The driver, secdrv.sys, is used by games which use Macrovision SafeDisc. Without the driver, games with SafeDisc protection would be unable to play on Windows.
