Keith Batchelor 915249 Posted December 25, 2004 at 07:20 AM Posted December 25, 2004 at 07:20 AM If I load up the SBHost.exe and then SB I can access all the SB functions no problem. BUT I can only talk to ATC with FS minimised and SB on the screen, which is hopeless. If I start SBHost.dll and then SB my PC almost dies. It is impossible to use. Sometimes when I load up using the dll everything is spot on, no delays, all functions avaiable and voice as well. Is there a trick on loading up everything so that the .dll option works everytime? Or at least getting the .exe version to work with FS on screen? Getting this sorted would be a great Christmas present. Happy Christmas to all Best regards Keith Batchelor "Life is a short dash between two dates on a tombstone"
Lennart Vedin Posted December 25, 2004 at 12:53 PM Posted December 25, 2004 at 12:53 PM > SBHost.dll If problem, I never heard a fix. It must depend of computer, Windows setup etc, but probably something is potential wrong in SBHost.dll . > SBHost.exe Tell exactly what does and what does not work. Can you at all run FS maximized in back and SBHost in small window in front of FS ? Can you then use text with ACT ? Can you then hear ATC voice ? Can you NOT then speak to ATC with voice ? / Lennart Vedin /

Lennart Vedin Posted December 25, 2004 at 07:33 PM Posted December 25, 2004 at 07:33 PM One before had exacly same problem (previous forum), but I never heard more from him. Just give som more inputs: Have you try both options "Wave" and the Direct Sond option in AVC. It look like a Windows setup or sound driver problem. Can you run any other sound program, such as music program at the same time that FS is maximized. Do you use Windows XP ? Try also Windows Voice playback device if any options, as well FS. Try turn FS sound off. / Lennart Vedin /

Just give som more inputs: Have you try both options "Wave" and the Direct Sond option in AVC. Yes and I have a USB headset. I have tried all different option but still get same results. It look like a Windows setup or sound driver problem. I have Sondblaster live card with latest drivers. Can you run any other sound program, such as music program at the same time that FS is maximized. Yes Do you use Windows XP ? Yes Try also Windows Voice playback device if any options, as well FS. Try turn FS sound off. Some more information: I can hear ATC but only if FS is minimised but I noticed yesterday that if I hold the left mouse button down I can hear ATC. Also when I do heat ATC the same message keeps repeating, like a buffer is full, when this clears I can hear. I have at some times been able to run with everything OK, but now it's hopeless. Lennart Vedin Posted December 27, 2004 at 09:07 AM Posted December 27, 2004 at 09:07 AM It might could be overloading proccessor while FS run maximized. Try set FS maximum framerate to very low (4 frame/sec), and run FS maximized as a test. And what equpment do you have Processor MHz, sound card etc. ? / Lennart Vedin /
Keith Batchelor 915249 Posted December 27, 2004 at 11:23 PM Author Posted December 27, 2004 at 11:23 PM Fixed it. I use FSAutostart to kill processes and programmes before starting FS. Well this morning I set set everything up and now I can connect and get voice using SBhost.dll.
