Mark Richards Posted November 21, 2015 at 05:44 AM Posted November 21, 2015 at 05:44 AM Upon receipt of Nick Johnston's resignation as Division Director and Leon Gibbs' resignation as Deputy Division Director last weekend my job as Regional Director was to quickly ensure that a new Division Director was in place in order to ensure that the Division kept up its momentum and moving forward. As it turned out, this was also one of my final jobs as Regional Director. Nick and I spoke to Andrew Moseley, VATNZ's current Director of Operations/Airspace (and one of VATNZ's Founders) and invited him to consider moving into the Division Director's role. I am thrilled to announce that Andrew accepted the position and with immediate effect, Andrew is VATNZ's new Division Director. A lot happens in a week as last weekend I didn't expect to be the new VP Ops so it's great that losing an RD, DD and DDD in the space of a few days has seen VATNZ with a new DD so quickly. Andrew has been online on VATSIM since the very beginning (and SATCO before that) and has been an active member the whole time. He sat on the VATPAC Board as the Director of Operations/Airspace for NZ before VATNZ was founded as a separate Division so has been in the role more than 10 years so has the experience and ability to guide VATNZ well on it's journey ahead. Andrew is a real world Check and Training Captain on the Metroliner for a New Zealand airline and his wife Ann is a real world Air Traffic Controller in Auckland. Andrew therefore brings a ton of real world expertise to the role. Congratulations Andrew and all the best in your new role.
