Im new myself, but by reading all the information Vatsim has provided for you, you'll be up and flying with others in no time. First go to the main page of Vatsim.net, you will see a flashing red link, New Pilots Start Here, click on it and download the first thing, its called Complete VATSIM Software Package for Microsoft Flight Simulator . Then go to the Pilots Resource Center (you will need to signup) click on Basic Pilot Training, there you will find all the information you need, which includes instructions on how to set everything up.
