Steven Perry Posted January 31, 2016 at 03:59 AM Posted January 31, 2016 at 03:59 AM Starting in the past several months, and especially during busy times on the network, my vPilot voice channel will not join until I try to transmit. Are there any suggested solutions for this? I will tune the appropriate ATC freq, the frequency turns that light blue in vPilot, but there is no chatter. I tap the transmit key and I get a buzzer sound, indicating I'm trying to xmit when not connected to a room. Immediately I am connected to the voice room and, more times than not, hear someone else's transmission picked up mid-sentence. I wonder if I'm not alone in this, because I've also noticed an increase in pilots checking onto a frequency and blatantly stepping all over someone else's transmission. But it could be I just notice more because I have been experiencing the problem myself. Hardware-wise, I changed my router to an "Archer C7" about 6 months ago. I didn't set up any special port forwarding in the new router. I don't recall this being an issue until the past 2 months though. Ross Carlson Posted January 31, 2016 at 04:10 AM Posted January 31, 2016 at 04:10 AM Haven't had that issue reported yet. Could you try setting up the port forwarding to see if it makes a difference? Steven Perry Posted February 2, 2016 at 03:01 AM Author Posted February 2, 2016 at 03:01 AM Adjusted port forwarding, one flight done with 4 controllers... no joining problems to report. I'll post again here if it pops up again. Steven Perry VATSIM Supervisor
