Justin Shannon Posted March 18, 2017 at 10:39 PM Author Posted March 18, 2017 at 10:39 PM Version 2.0.6286.21720 of vATIS is now available for download from the web site, or via the automatic update utility built into the ATIS client. The following items were added or fixed in this version: - Added the ability to change the default installation directory - Implemented the ability to record a voice ATIS. See below. ========================================== Voice ATIS Added with this release is the ability to record a voice ATIS to simulate a facility that does not use a digitized ATIS in the real world. This will be especially beneficial to those who use a radar client that does not have a built-in ATIS maker (like vERAM or vSTARS). To record a voice ATIS you must first configure the facility to use this format. To do so, load up a facility as you normally would. Using the key combination CTRL + F, the facility editor will open. Navigate to the Configuration tab and check the box that says "Enable voice recorded ATIS". Close out of the facility editor window. The main window will have slightly changed to accommodate voice ATIS recording. You must be connected to the network to record an ATIS. Like before, an ATIS profile and ATIS letter must be selected before recording an ATIS. Click the "Record ATIS" button and begin speaking. Be sure to leave a few seconds of silence at the end of your recording before pressing the record button again to stop the recording. Review your recording by clicking the "Preview ATIS" button. If necessary, click the "Record ATIS" button to re-record your ATIS message. When you are satisfied, click the "Connect ATIS" button to begin broadcasting your ATIS message. As before, you may toggle the "Auto Update" function to automatically notify you of a new METAR update of when it's time to record a new ATIS. You may revert to using a digitized ATIS for the facility at anytime by unchecking the "Enable voice recorded ATIS" checkbox.
