Matt Middleton 1264577 Posted April 9, 2016 at 10:28 PM Posted April 9, 2016 at 10:28 PM Can someone explain if Heathrow procedures have changed recently and I'm not aware off it? Myself and friends were flying out tonight cleared on a WOBUN3F departure off 27R, we pushed from our respective stands. I'd noticed N_TWR had come online then suddenly everyone got switched to 27L for departure. However checking the nightime alternation file, it should still have been 27R single runway ops? I'm confused, is there something new happening? What utter rubbish - https://gyazo.com/c741236275df2634ed8ab451698ea10d
Dale Brooksby Posted April 9, 2016 at 11:42 PM Posted April 9, 2016 at 11:42 PM Seems you were only connected for 13 minutes as a pilot and then connected to EGLL_N_TWR yourself. I am sure that the supervisor explained to you how things worked this evening. The ultimate responsibility for the selection of the active runway lies with the Tower Controller in question and since the EGLL_S_TWR controller logged on first and when you logged on were splitting off of his AoR then you have no right to change something which had already been selected.
