vPilot has a feature to retrieve the flight plan from Vatsim using the "Fetch from server" option. How is vPilot accomplishing this download? Is there an api available to do this? Maybe vPilot is s[Mod - lovely stuff]ing it off the Vatsim page. I am interested in auto downloading the flight plan information using a c# program to use for a small fsx flight monitoring prototype program.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just know that if you use the data feed (which vPilot does not), you'll potentially see a 2-3+ minute delay between updates since that's the update interval of the datafeeds.

I searched, could not find much on Data Feeds at Vatsim. Can someone point me to general docomeentation on data feeds or what they are generally referred to as , so I can gear my google searches towards those terms. Thank You.

Since vPilot is connected to the network servers, it retrieves it from there, just as an ATC client would.

Wow, I originally saw that page ,but was looking for some kind of outward docomeentation, so I moved on. I see now in the .txt files they also contain metadata.

Thank you very much for setting me straight! I might have a couple questions once I digest this data, but looking good right now.

How to p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] the data feeds are also in the txt files as it is colon delineated. Each field in the data block are specified in the comment lines for each data type.
