Bryant Andrew 857583 Posted April 11, 2006 at 03:51 AM Posted April 11, 2006 at 03:51 AM (edited) Alright folks, with Easter Sunday around the corner, there will be no ZMP Casual Sunday airport this week. Instead we will resume normal dates on the 23rd of April 2004 with Omaha Nebraska. Come buzz around the pattern in this Cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] C, or enjoy some VFR, and maybe even practice your approachs. You can also Jump around to some of our Neighboring airports. KSUX, KFSD, KLNK. We are trying to make this a weekly thing, knowing that most pilots would like to get away from the Heavy metal and just relax with a cessna or Piper. We had 7 aircraft at LNK. 3 in the pattern, 2 TEC and 2 practice approaches. Hope you will join us, and we will c~ya in the sky's. Dan Everette Posted April 20, 2006 at 02:55 AM Posted April 20, 2006 at 02:55 AM There is that line in the song Omaha by Counting Crows: "Omaha, Somewhere in middle America". This is "Omaha, Somewhere in time"... -Dan Everette CFI, CFII, MEI Having the runway in sight just at TDZE + 100 is like Mom, Warm cookies and milk, and Christmas morning, all wrapped into one. Brad Littlejohn Posted April 20, 2006 at 05:57 PM Posted April 20, 2006 at 05:57 PM There is that line in the song Omaha by Counting Crows: "Omaha, Somewhere in middle America". This is "Omaha, Somewhere in time"... Ahh.. home sweet home.. Used to work at the 1st Nat'l Bank of Omaha and Peter Kiewit (the tall building at the right of the picture, and the two at the lower left, respectively).. It sucked! anywho, I'm looking forward to this, and buzzing the Woodmen, Council Bluffs, Millard, and Standing Bear/Cunningham lakes (wish it and the rest were depicted.. megascenery midwest, anyone?). Also, are there any TEC routes for the R90/LNK area? But just thinking about the other fields in ZMP.. SUX and KRAP.. you guys got it bad! BL. Jason Harris 877712 Posted April 21, 2006 at 12:51 AM Posted April 21, 2006 at 12:51 AM Brad, You should see what they've done to the river front. Tore out most of the old industrial buildings and added such things as the Qwest Center, Harris Campus, etc. It's actually nice hang out on the old missouri! Add in the world cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] zoo (hey, I've got kids) and the College World Series and Omaha is a fairly good city not on a coast.
