User Emails

Hi Guys,

 

Just trying to find out if there is a person to email about getting access to something similar to this (but obviously secure): https://cert.vatsim.net/cert/vatsimnet/idstatus.php?cid=1217663

 

I need to be able to pull the users full vatsim [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ociated email address without having them logging into the SSO -> just by supplying their ID number to the query.

Hi Zach,

 

Unfortunately that level of access to member email addresses is not available.

 

As you said, you can receive via SSO the email address of any member upon their log in to your site.

 

Also as you are a VATSIM division you should have access to the full data of your members, including email addresses. But this is only for members of your division, not members of other VATSIM divisions.

 

Would that be sufficient for your needs?

I'm looking at comparing the user supplied email/id to the VATSIM email [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ociated with that ID in a new ATC training management system.

 

The Director of ATC training said there was a policy that said "All training contact must be done through the users registered VATSIM email". I understand I could use the SSO but wanted to take that extra step out of the system.

 

Who does one email to access this level of divisional user data?

Email Kieran Hardern at [email protected]. If you are a divisional staff member, he'll let you know. It should come from the Divisional Director initially but he may give the information to the division webmaster. Divisions get access to a division roster of all [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned members of the division, their details, etc. through a API to CERT. It's not available to vACCs, ARTCCs, FIRs, etc. only divisions and regions.
