Eric Cartier 1357735 Posted May 14, 2016 at 04:52 PM Posted May 14, 2016 at 04:52 PM I am stumped. I load a flight into FSX , AC on the ground simulator paused, open V-pilot and I get an error message : "SimConnect Error: VERSION_MISMATCH 5" Actually it says this anytime I open v-pilot, FSX running or not. I am running v-pilot version 1.1.5901.24775 I have the FSX default aircraft rule set downloaded (I don't have any other add on aircraft) I installed the Service Pack1 for FSX I am running both FSX and V-pilot as Administrator I read (and followed) the configure guide with v-pilot I read the FAQ here on the forum which helped for other parts of the process and getting a better understanding of how all the vat sim client programs/ AC add on rules fit together. But now I cannot find info on what's wrong or what to do next based on the error message. Searched the forum, searched the Internet, nothing specifically relating. I could use some help. Eric Cartier 1357735 Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:16 PM Author Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:16 PM Ah yes well when I installed SP2 FSX no longer runs on my computer. Not enough graphics memory error message. So the lowdown would be...?
Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:23 PM Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:23 PM you need SP2 to run any of the clients not sure why you are having the memory issues, as SP2 actually improves those issues in FSX. what error message are you getting
Eric Cartier 1357735 Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:37 PM Author Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:37 PM I don't remember exactly. I am re-installing SP2 to find out. It was something to the degree of not enough graphics memory to run. Find out in a second
Eric Cartier 1357735 Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:43 PM Author Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:43 PM When I try to run FSX with the SP2 update it says: " This graphics card does not meet minimum requirements for shader support. This product requires a geForge3/Raedon8500 cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] or better graphics card. Flight Simulator will now exit." So The system requirements for SP2 are: Windows Vista, Windows XP 2.0 GHz processor with 1GB of Ram DX9 Shader model 2.0 graphics card and 256MB of video memory 30GB free hard disk space I do not have the dedicated graphics card/ memory. I do have 2GB or RAM though. Can I run FSX with a lower quality graphics setting? That's what I had to do before I installed SP2
Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:54 PM Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:54 PM try turning the graphics down and see but sounds like your setup doesnt support FSX (i wouldnt go spending much on payware addons if thats the case as itll just drag it down even more)
Eric Cartier 1357735 Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:59 PM Author Posted May 14, 2016 at 05:59 PM Yeah the problem is that FSX won't open for me to attempt to turn down the graphics setting . It locks up at the startup screen with the error message "Graphics card does not meet minimum requirements for shader support". Thanks for your help. Norman Blackburn Posted May 14, 2016 at 06:12 PM Posted May 14, 2016 at 06:12 PM I suppose the obvious way would be to upgrade your graphics card? Norman
