Jamie Fox 811029 Posted July 17, 2016 at 10:39 AM Posted July 17, 2016 at 10:39 AM Problem In EuroScope, pressing and holding the configured push to talk (PTT) button has no effect, and no transmission is made. The small headset icons do not turn red/orange in the way that would normally be expected. However: The voice subsystem appears to work normally and can connect to voice channels etc. without any problems. Receiving voice also works fine. The squelch and mike tests produce normal results. (Re-)configuring the selected PTT button works normally. Solution In my case the problem has turned out to be caused by a fairly new version of the Synergy server (v1.8.1 specifically), where the server has been started automatically at system boot. Restarting (or stopping) the Synergy server solves the problem. (I also found that there were some other problems occurring with the server in this initial boot state - particularly mouse button clicks not being p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ed to clients - which were also solved by this restart.) Whether it's a problem with Synergy itself or its configuration isn't clear, but it's probably not a EuroScope problem. Synergy is an open-source program for seamlessly sharing a keyboard and mouse between more than one computer, as if they are one machine with multiple screens. A very handy capability to have. So, if you find you're having a problem similar to the description above, at an early stage of troubleshooting it would be well worth checking whether you are running Synergy or anything else like Synergy, that makes use of your keyboard and mouse in a system-wide kind of way. If so, try disabling it to see if the problem goes away.
