Tim Slater 883355 Posted April 14, 2006 at 03:01 PM Posted April 14, 2006 at 03:01 PM Hi all, I was just wondering whether there are any new rules regarding ATIS length. For voice controllers, even if your ATIS is 4 lines long, it will display as 5 because of the added voice information. Are we still allowed to input 4 lines of our own information, or is this now 3? Ruth McTighe 824054 Posted April 14, 2006 at 03:20 PM Posted April 14, 2006 at 03:20 PM The policy is exactly the same as it was "All air traffic controllers are to have ATIS in their ProController / ASRC to a size never greater than four lines with a suggested maximum of three lines. The suggested format includes the controller's voice connection details (if using voice) in first line, then runways in use (if appropriate), followed only by some simple details of the airport / airspace they are controlling in the lines to follow As the voice information is put in automatically by VRC and take sup one line, then that only leaves you three (and preferably two) lines to play with. Andreas Fuchs Posted April 14, 2006 at 04:33 PM Posted April 14, 2006 at 04:33 PM So basically there's no need to include the METAR into your ATIS, saves a line.
