Bryan Lewis 1304307 Posted October 29, 2016 at 04:27 PM Posted October 29, 2016 at 04:27 PM First, I'm a long-time member and not a newbie. I have used the same VATSIM ID and PW for years. I running X-plane 10.51, XSquawkbox 1.31, and Windows 10. THIS ANNOYING LITTLE PROBLEM HAS EXISTED SINCE MAY 2016. I finally gave up on the problem back in July and just moved over to Pilotedge—accepting that I would never fly Vatsim again. The error is our old friend: INVALID CID/P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]WORD (6). I decided to try again this morning (figuring 5-6 months had p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ed), but same problem. Xsquawkbox is NOT accepting my Vatsim login credentials. I have double-checked with xsquawkbox and they claim (back in July) the problem is with my VATSIM credentials. Likewise, I double-checked with VATSIM back in July (sent in another ticket this morning) in order to ensure that my account had not been disabled and that my credentials are absolutely correct. VATSIM staff said it was likely xsquawkbox and no problems with my account (back in July). Moreover, I have typed in my credentials instead of copy and paste. Likewise, I have removed all files, re-downloaded, and reinstalled-to no avail. I'm completely at my wits end! Should I just accept that I can never fly Vatsim again? I don't know what else to do. Wade Williams or Christopher Collins any thoughts? Anybody?
Bradley Grafelman Posted October 29, 2016 at 07:29 PM Posted October 29, 2016 at 07:29 PM Have you tried using one of the controller clients (e.g. Euroscope or VRC) to connect as an observer?
Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted October 29, 2016 at 07:48 PM Board of Governors Posted October 29, 2016 at 07:48 PM If you try one of the ATC clients and it works, it definitely points to XSB. I wonder if it's a special character it's not liking. Although I do recommend Brad's method so we can gather additional datapoints that might point to a root cause, I'll also offer that you could simply reset your VATSIM p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word and try the new one. Duncan White Posted December 22, 2016 at 02:15 AM Posted December 22, 2016 at 02:15 AM I guess this was resolved as stats for Bryan Lewis show flights using XSB in November & December.
