Jonathan Johnson Posted November 6, 2016 at 02:15 PM Posted November 6, 2016 at 02:15 PM Had some pretty wild weather last night out of miami.. started with heavy rain and winds on takeoff, and then serious turbulence around FL250 to FL300). Lagged my computer down to 12 FPS which I've never had happen. Anyone else fly out of that area last night?
Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted November 6, 2016 at 02:24 PM Posted November 6, 2016 at 02:24 PM i work at MIA, weather was definitely pretty bad around that time. as far as the sim, the more clouds it draws, the heavier the hit can be on performance depending on the PC specs. especially if you have higher res clouds
1275389 Posted November 6, 2016 at 02:47 PM Posted November 6, 2016 at 02:47 PM Welcome to South Florida! As Ernesto said, check your cloud settings, don't want them too high or else you'll get lots of lag.
Jonathan Johnson Posted November 7, 2016 at 12:13 AM Author Posted November 7, 2016 at 12:13 AM That could be it. I was thinking of getting Active Sky.. do you think that will only further my problems? I currently have an N460GTX graphics card with 12GB DDR3 RAM and an AMD Phenom X4 processor with 3.4 Ghz... I would think that with as old as FSX is that I shouldn't have "too" many issues with the game.. even though I am running the steam edition..
