Mark Wolpert Posted November 13, 2016 at 08:46 PM Posted November 13, 2016 at 08:46 PM If I start VPilot after starting P3D the host gets stuck on version check. If I start before starting P3D then no problem it starts normally and eventually connects to P3D once it starts up. Happens with the full version or the host when connected through WideFS. What do you mean by "full version"? And vPilot does not use WideFS, so I'm confused why you mentioned that. Mark Wolpert Posted November 16, 2016 at 09:08 PM Author Posted November 16, 2016 at 09:08 PM Sorry Ross, let me clarify. I use version 2 on my main FSX/P3D computer as client / server on a remote computer. The version on the remote starts up normally all the time but the version on the main computer (client?) will get stuck at the version check if it is started after FSX/P3D. If I start it first it runs normally.

Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted November 16, 2016 at 11:01 PM Board of Governors Posted November 16, 2016 at 11:01 PM Mark, you are using v2 on both machines, correct? Don Desfosse Vice President, Operations

I'm going to [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ume (yes I know what that means) by "full version" he means not Beta, so V1.* whatever it's at. On that note Ross, V2 is rock-solid since day one I installed it. The only hiccup I'll call it was getting my mic to work properly on it (headset mic). What I found was that if I plug in my headset after starting vPilot I get the issues, if I have headset plugged in prior to starting vPilot, no issues. That's why I called it a hiccup as it's not a fault of the program. Mr. VATSIM P2

Yeah, if your configured audio device is not plugged in when you start vPilot, it will switch to using whatever your default Windows audio device is. If you subsequently plug your headset in, you would have to go into the settings window and select it again, in order to tell vPilot that you want to switch to it. Mark Wolpert Posted November 17, 2016 at 09:41 PM Author Posted November 17, 2016 at 09:41 PM Ok forget about my wording of full version. FSX/P3D Computer - vPilot Version 2. Remote Computer - vPilot Version 2. vPilot on the FSX/P3D computer gets stuck. vPilot on remote computer works ok.

Mark Wolpert Posted November 19, 2016 at 03:25 PM Author Posted November 19, 2016 at 03:25 PM Here is the screenshot. I noticed today it got stuck even without having P3D running.
Ross Carlson Posted November 19, 2016 at 03:46 PM Posted November 19, 2016 at 03:46 PM I'm glad to hear it happens with or without the sim running ... the version check has nothing to do with the sim, so it made no sense that it would matter. The version check is a simple web connection to the vPilot web site. Sounds like an intermittent connectivity problem. Do you have any anti-virus or firewall software that you could try disabling temporarily? (I don't know why anti-virus or firewall software would block the connection only some of the time, but I'm grasping at straws here.) Mark Wolpert Posted November 19, 2016 at 05:13 PM Author Posted November 19, 2016 at 05:13 PM OK, will give it a try and report back. I just use Microsoft Security Essentials so nothing special on the virus checker.
