Claus Faber 1183332 Posted December 19, 2016 at 10:40 AM Posted December 19, 2016 at 10:40 AM Hi there, I have an issue which I can't resolve further on my own now: I have two payware aircraft: The A320 QPAC and the FlyJSim Dash 8 Q400. They keep crashing on the taxilane, and the log message is, that XPlane crashed because of XSquawkbox. Well, after hours of testing and docomeenting, I found out: - Crashes only happen when XSquawkbox is logged into VATSIM and a frequency is tuned in. - No other plane crashes. - Both planes are the only ones using Gizmo. I could not find any other fact that coincides with all crashes. The Log shows a series of weather pushes before the crash, but there are dozens - that can't be the cause. The log does not show any other errors (except a few minor issues concerning scenery). It seems that there is an issue that XSquwawkbox 1.3.1 and Gizmo (both are latest versions) don't actually like each other. And it is impossible for me to track and reproduce a single cause for it. Do you have any idea? Is there any way to enable debugging to know what really happens? Many Thanks, Claus
Christopher Collins Posted January 21, 2017 at 01:10 PM Posted January 21, 2017 at 01:10 PM I have two payware aircraft: The A320 QPAC and the FlyJSim Dash 8 Q400. Well, after hours of testing and docomeenting, I found out: - Crashes only happen when XSquawkbox is logged into VATSIM and a frequency is tuned in. - No other plane crashes. - Both planes are the only ones using Gizmo. Well, that last statement is completely false - neither of those models use Gizmo (the FlyJSim Dash8 uses SASL and the QPAC A320 uses a custom FBW plugin), so your conclusion about it being a Gizmo/XPlane interaction is completely unfounded unless you yourself have integrated a Gizmo related addon into your installations. If you have, you have to be very careful with anything that manipulates the weather - that appears to be the source of a great number of crashes at the moment if you leave XSB's weather handling enabled. XSquawkBox - Developer/Maintainer Please post any support related questions to the XSquawkBox support forum rather than private messaging me, thanks. Claus Faber 1183332 Posted March 2, 2017 at 09:02 PM Author Posted March 2, 2017 at 09:02 PM Ok, my deep apologies... You're right of course. Removed Gizmo, haven't found out what is not working now, but XP is not crashing anymore... Many thanks and sorry...
