Are you referring to pilot client software, which connects your simulator to the network? See the following for more information:

VATSIM.net - Software

No I am talking about how to talk with them, not chatting, REAL ATC

Is it Teamspeak 3 or something?

Thanks for your help

You talk by using your pilot client, e.g. vPilot. You should really check out the VATSIM Pilot Resource Center (link provided above).

Yes, it will work. I suggest you visit the Pilot Resource Centre for more information. It explains how to get started.

Step 1: Choose a pilot client. Certain clients only work with certain simulators. ie: Vpilot for FSX and P3d. Xsquawkbox for Xplane. FSinn for FS9 and FSX.

Step 2: Install it.

Step 3: Boot up your sim

Step 4: Find an airport with ATC manning the location (These are humans that also like to sleep and go out.) using something like http://www.vattastic.com/

Step 5: Position your aircraft at the gate or general parking area at said airport

Step 6: Log in

Step 7: tune the radio panel in your aircraft to the same frequency the ATC is available on.

Step 8: Ensure your microphone is plugged in and working.

Step 9: Push the push to talk button/key you [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned at step 2

Step 10: use outflowing air from your lungs to vibrate your larynx, and shape your mouth to form sounds from the english language while close to your microphone.

I'd add to that;

Step 11: Let go of push to talk!

I'd like to suggest that you take a VATSIM P1 rating course - it'll teach you this (and more) about how to fly on VATSIM properly. I think it'd be far more helpful than simply giving you basic instructions on how to connect to VATSIM and talk to ATC. You can take the course at a number of locations - I took mine at the VATSIM Pilot Academy, but the organizations VATSTAR and BAVirtual (the latter is a virtual airline which you have to sign up for to take the course) offer very good courses too (Google them).

I also wouldn't have your IVAO signature in your signature bar...

Seems he doesn't use IVAO much either, given he doesn't seem to know what an active ATC frequency is...
