When you fly with us you’ll have a 3-6 hour shift with a scheduled time to depart/arrive each airport, a unique route for your aircraft, a simulated p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]enger load for each leg derived from real world averages, and gate [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignments for each airport. What you will experience as we grow and have more pilots participating is a lot of company traffic at the hub. You won’t know where the company traffic around you is going or when unless you are looking at the schedule or hear them call for clearances (and you won’t care when you get buried in the adventure of turning the plane on time). Sometimes you’ll have to wait for them, sometimes you’ll hold them up. One day you’ll be flight 100 the next you’ll hear flight 100 check-on while you’re flying flight 399. The only rules are to use the [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned flight numbers and wait for your [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned gate or gate re[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignment even if a company jet is still on it. If it sounds interesting come out tonight and try it out. If you enjoy it then let’s do it consistently and build this together.

The first engine starts April 28th at 6:30pm Eastern. You will be able to find me on the private voice channel rw.liveatc.net/CITRUS and as TRS000_OPS (000 will be my flight #).

So far we have 11 planes operating from 5 gates in ATL. Should be interesting.

"If my virtual flying experience was always like this, I know I'd be hooked. Joe, let's start a VA with this structure. I think it would be cool. The ops/disptach person would be very busy and pilots would enjoy the real time environment."

"I like to fly online but logging on and picking a random flight for no reason is pointless to me. What I would love to see is a group of guys who get together and fly integrated schedules as a team."

"I'm totally about this idea - lets take this hobbie to the next level. This sounds much more challenging then just cramming as much metal into an airport!"

"I had been looking for something to create some urgency and time pressure and this was exactly the thing."

"Really you have a great idea there brewing up. I wouldn't mind building a team and doing legs/shifts."

A day in the life of an ATP'er

Push 5 early outa BWI

Get held up by winds aloft into ATL

Arrive 10 late at the gate in ATL

Quick turn a 717 doing 5 things at once, make some time up but are then #3 for departure outa ATL 9L behind a company 712 and an Air Canada 767.

Blast off to Orlando but have a TCAS with RA while on the BRAVS3 departure as an arrival somehow strayed into my way

Greased a landing onto 35L in MCO after a fun downwind leg looking at Disney

Had loads of fun with alot of company traffic!
