SB3 Message

Hi,

New to online flying, but dont seem to be getting the chance,

I connect to the vatsim server using SB3 and FS2002, after about a minute,

I get disconnected with the message "unauthorised client software"

Any ideas, All that is running is SB3 and FS2002.

This is a known issue and is related as such in the SB3 docomeentation at the SB3 website. Typically this is caused by something on your system that eats up processing time preventing SB3 from communicating with the VATSIM server software to indicate that it IS an authorized client.

 

Typically things such as ServInfo which are on an automatic update could cause this, or it could be your computer doing an automatic windows update, anti-virus/firewall update, or anything else that might run in the back ground.

 

When this happens, generally reconnecting will be all that is needed.

This happens when information isnt able to p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] between your SB3 and the server (and back) when its required. It could be something as simple as a network glitch. I think since SB3 has been released I have seen it less than 12 times and I would be on most days.

 

Simply reconnect when you get this error message and all will be fine.

I guess I'll just have to persevere,

While I'm here though, Another question,

I cant seem to set the voice up properly, the sound is ok when i

use windows sound recorder, but when i try to calibrate in SB3 the recording comes back as

intelligible sound, like extreme echo, is this just mic quality do you think?

I thought SB3 didn't work with FS2002 or am I thinking of FS98.

 

I had a new pilot the other evening with sound problems his was related to his mic config and haveing the sound levels set to high.

 

My advice would be to start the recalibration process again but starting at a much lower level until you are happy with the playback. Dont forget you can turn things up with your speaker volume.

 

I had one guy nearly took my ears off as his volume was set way to loud.

 

I hope this helps with the problem. Other than that check the source for sound that you have checked in sound source. It's all a matter of a processof elimination.
